Back to Normal!

I enjoyed conferencing with all of you this week! But, I will be glad to get back to our normal schedule on Monday!

I added to the Downloadable Documents page - Thanksgiving Lunch Invite and the Field trip permission form.

Don't forget dedications for the yearbook are due on Monday!

Math Homework

Oh! I think I gave them a bad problem! The third problem may not be workable!! If they can't find a common denominator tell them to stop and just write that!! So sorry!! That is what happens when I don't look in the book!

Field Trip Information

Remember, you will be getting your field trip information at conferences. I need to know how many will be chaperoning by November 18th. The way to hold your spot is to make sure you have made the first payment by this date. The problem is the river boat fills up because there will be other people on it as well. So please decide by this date if you are going to chaperone! Thanks so much!

Feast Schedule Change!

The Thanksgiving Feast has been rescheduled for November 15th and 16th. K-2 is on the 15th, 3-5 on the 16th. I will get the times to you when I get them! Hope to see you there!

Rachel's Challenge

Don't forget tomorrow night there is a meeting at 6pm to discuss and give information about Rachel's Challenge. The students will be learning about it during the school day so there is no need for them to come in the evening. If you need to bring your children with you, there will be a movie room for them.

Happy News!

I told the kids today that I will be having a baby in April! My husband and I are so excited! Don't worry, I will be here all the way up until the CRCT!

Testing and other things!

Almost done with testing! I will be so glad when it is over! It wears them (and me) out.

Dedication forms for the yearbook are due October 31st. I will give everyone a copy today. Do not forget this. It is so cute in the yearbook!!

Red Ribbon Week is the week of conference week, October 24-28. This is also early dismissal week at 12:10. Below is the activities for each day of Red Ribbon Week. We will also write it in our agendas.

At conferences I will be giving out the passwords to log on to the CRCT practice website. I will also go over information for our final field trip! Woo Hoo! Report cards will be given out at conferences as well.

Conference Letters

Conference letters went home yesterday. Please return those as soon as possible so I can reschedule as needed. Please give me times/days that will work if the time I selected won't work for you. Thanks so much!

I enjoyed the field trip on Friday. Your children were well behaved and attentive, not that I expected any less!!

No homework or spelling this week due to testing.

All extra credit work needs to be turned in by Friday which is the last day of the nine weeks! Thanks!

End of 9 weeks

Last week will be the end of the first nine weeks of fifth grade!

I have noticed a drop in reading scores since the progress reports were sent home. I am sure you have seen their grades coming home. It looks as though they are not taking the time to find answers in the reading passages, and it is showing in their grades. I talked to them about it this week and did make available one piece of extra credit. I need these by Friday next week when I start finalizing their grades. They do need to take the time to find the answers. I may have to start requiring them to use the UNRAAVEL strategy if I don't see improvement soon.

Field trip and Fall Festival tomorrow!!

Conference forms go home on Monday! Conference week is the week of October 24th. Those days will be early release days.
