Snow day make-ups: Wednesday, February 2nd is no longer an Early Release Day. School will be dismissed at our usual time. In addition, March 18th is no longer a Teacher Work Day. School will be in session and will have normal hours.
Read to Succeed: Frey is offering a chance for your child to participate in the “Read to Succeed” program that is sponsored by Six Flags and Discovery Education. To participate, your child needs to read only 6 hours at home. When your child has completed 6 hours of reading then he/she will earn a free ticket to Six Flags. If you would like for your child to participate, please send me an email and I will send a form home with your child. The form is due back to school by February 28. This is a fun way to encourage reading and earn a free ticket to Six Flags. I hope every child will participate.
STEM Night: PTSA is having a Family STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math) Night from 6:00 pm -8:00 pm on Tuesday, February 1. This is a partnership with NASA and The Museum of Aviation. There will be 15 centers to rotate through as well as an F-15 Cockpit! This will be a fun night for all. I hope you can attend.
Animal Research Project: Tomorrow your child will bring home a letter describing the Animal Research project we will be working on in class. Your child will have two weeks to choose a habitat to research and find out information about 4 types of animals that live in that habitat. There will be a cover letter explaining the assignment and a notice from the media center explaining some websites available to you through Frey's website. Please let me know if you have any questions regarding this project after you have received all the information in your child's binder. The research will be due by February 14th.
Valentine’s Day Project: Each child is going to be asked to decorate a shoe box for Valentine's Day. Our class will be having a Valentine card exchange on Monday, February 14th. Please send in the Valentine boxes on Friday, February 11th. I will send home a class list for your child to make valentines if he or she chooses to do so. Please feel free to be as creative as your child would like to decorate the shoe box. (glitter, stickers, designs, etc) Have fun!!
