Dear Families,
Supplies: When devising our school supply list for the current year, we tried to be very cautious in asking for supplies. Each school year all grade levels combine a few supplies to one central storage area. With the rapid change in weather, we are finding ourselves in need of a few community school supplies. It would be greatly appreciated if each family could send in some Kleenex, Clorox Wipes, Ziploc Sandwich and Snack size bags. Thank you!
100th DAY OF SCHOOL IS JANUARY 27th
SAVE IT FORWARD FOOD DRIVE
JOINING WITH RACHEL’S
CHALLENGE THIS YEAR
Please help Frey Elementary collect 100 Cans or Boxes of Food by the 100th Day of School! January 27th!! All items donated will be provided to studentsand their families in need in Cobb County Schools. Suggested items are listed below. We currently have 40 items donated in our classroom. Thank you so much for your generosity!!
This year in conjunction with Rachel’s Challenge, Frey Elementary will be partnering with Alive Ministries, Inc. to help meet the needs of students and their families right here in Cobb County. Alive Ministries establishes food pantries within Title 1 schools around the county that have a large density of children living in poverty. We hope that you will join us in our first school wide act of kindness as we challenge each homeroom to collect 100 cans or boxes of food by the 100th day of school.
We believe that in addition to helping meet the needs of children in our community, the campaign will teach our students that there are other children who live near us that are in need and that we can make a difference in the lives of these children. Our goal is to teach each student at Frey Elementary that no matter how large or small their contribution to the campaign is, when we work together and each does our part we can make a big difference. We want each child to walk away from the campaign feeling like they have made a difference in the life of another child.
We are asking each child to assist their homeroom in collecting 100 cans or boxes of food by bringing in a can or box of food each week from now until the 100th day of school. On the 100th day of school, we will hold a school rally and bring together all the food that each homeroom has collected so that they can see the difference that they have made. It will give the students a great sense of accomplishment!
Thank you for your support!
