At Frey Cafe, we strive to serve a nutritious, well balanced meal to our students while also serving foods children will enjoy and maintaining a friendly environment. Our menus and food choices follow the guidelines set by Cobb County Food and Nutrition and the National School Lunch Program. Each meal served to a student following these guidelines is a reimbursable meal which means the National School Lunch Program reimburses a portion of the food costs to Cobb County Food and Nutrition. We follow the Offer vs. Serve option where students are offered 5 of the required lunch components but are only required to take 3 out of the 5. This allows students the option of declining foods they do not intend to eat to minimize plate waste and encourage schools to offer more food choices. Unfortunately, we are not reimbursed for teachers, parents, or guests therefore the cost is higher for these meals.
We typically offer 3 main entrée choices, one is usually a salad. You may choose one entrée. We also offer 2-3 vegetable choices, 2-3 fruit choices, and 1 dessert choice or "Specialty Side". You may choose up to 3 of these side items with a limit of 1 dessert included in the 3 items. The salad entrée is limited to 1 side or 1 dessert.
