Picture Retakes are tomorrow!
Students must bring in their picture packet if retaking pictures.  
* Picture Retakes are for students unhappy with their picture.
* A student who was absent on picture day may have
   their picture taken for the year book.
* A student who was absent on picture day may also
   order pictures at this time.
* A student who recently enrolled may have their
   picture taken and/or order at this time.

Silly Slippers Day is Monday, Oct 31:
Children who donate $1 for United Way may wear their favorite slippers to school.  Thank you for supporting our community!

Fire Lane Parking: The Cobb County Fire Marshalls have begun writing Fire Lane Parking violations in school parking lots this week.  A number of people have already received citations.  They were at Frey this week and will be back to continue checking the fire lane as well as the Handicapped parking spots.  The Fire Marshall will continue writing these citations throughout the county this school year.  Please remember that if you park in the fire lane (the curb that is painted red), you risk being ticketed.

Rachel's Challenge

Parents, don't miss out on the Rachel's Challenge Meeting this Thursday at 6:00. This meeting will inform you about the Rachel's Challenge initiative that Frey is going to be implementing and the reason behind it. This meeting is for PARENTS ONLY due to the content shown and discussed. If you need to bring your children, we will have a movie room for them to go to. The students will have their Assembly for Rachel's Challenge during the day on Thursday that is age appropriate.

We promise you'll walk away with a new perspective on kindness and in helping us START A CHAIN REACTION!!!!

Picture Retakes: Picture retake day is October 28. If your child was absent for pictures, please let me know.  Also, if you are not pleased with your child’s pictures, just return the complete original package on this day for a retake.  These pictures will be in Frey’s yearbook.

Conference Week: Conference Week is October 24-28.  Dismissal will be at 12:20 pm and ASP is available. Report cards will go home on your conference day. I look forward to seeing everyone!

Bus Driver Appreciation Week:  Bus Driver Appreciation Week is October 17-21.  Show your appreciation to your child’s bus driver by saying thank you, making a card, or drawing a picture.

Rachel's Challenge assembly will be on October 20th at 8:00 for students and at 6:00 for parents. Please plan to attend and learn about ways our school will be sharing kindness with others. 

Red Ribbon Week

Red Ribbon Week is October 24^th – 28^th

Help us highlight the importance of being healthy and saying no to drugs by having your child wear …

Monday - I am a Jean'ius because I am drug free (wear jeans)
Tuesday - Be all you can be, stay drug free (wear army attire/camouflage clothes)
Wednesday -Sock it to drugs - (wear mismatched socks)
Thursday - Put a cap on drugs (wear a cap/hat to school)  
Friday - Stay in the game, be drug free (wear a team jersey)  

It's time for Frey's Fall Festival!! It will be from 5:30-8:30 and I hope to see you there! There will be yummy food, plenty of games, and smiling faces. Thank you to those of you who sent in goodies for the festival. I'd also like to give a HUGE thank you to our room moms, Mrs. Burkert and Mrs. Rasbach, for creating our CUTE class pumpkin and for our AWESOME class basket. Please plan to bring your family for an evening of Frey FUN!

Please remember that the Benjamin Franklin poster is due on Monday, October 10th. During the week your child will present the poster to the class. It might be helpful to have your child practice sharing the information on the poster at home so he or she will be comfortable when it is time to present. I attached a rubric to the letter that I sent home, please attach it to your child’s poster. I look forward to seeing wonderful presentations!

Testing

Please remember that we will have CogAT testing on Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday. Testing begins promptly at 8:00. Students who come to school late will not be admitted to our classroom after 8:00 and will have to take the Make-Up testing with another teacher later in the day.  Please be sure to be on time each day and to schedule any appointments during the afternoon if necessary.  Thank you!!
