Hooray! We made it through our first week and it has been one of the most productive ones in my teaching career. We have already gotten through the writing stages with a paper, begun place value in math and are almost done with a class powerpoint for Open House night. We are some "tired puppies" because we have been BUUUUUSSSY! Next week, we will dive into curriculum in all subject areas. We will continue place value to the millions in math, review sentences and subjects and predicates, start our first spelling sort (test will be on Friday, 8/28), study the water cycle and three types of clouds as well as the different genres of reading. Whew!
Everyone is doing a terrific job with agendas. We addded a clip to hold our pages. Please don't loose it. I don't have any more. We will begin our jobs in the classroom on Monday after interviews are completed on Friday.
Our class needs some index cards for use in Science and Social Studies Vocabulary. If anyone has any they could donate, that would be wonderful. Also, I would like to tie-dye class shirts again this year. Is there any brave volunteer who could dye them at home for us?
I am also sending home an at-home project on Monday. It will be due the Tuesday after Labor Day. Please sign and return the directions sheet on Tuesday.
