100 Days Together

Friday was the 100^th day of school.  The class had a good time integrating math into this celebration.  The class subtracted numbers starting at 100, wrote numbers to 100, and located 100 Hersey’s Kisses around the room and placed them on our 100th chart.  As you can imagine this was a day filled with learning in a fun way. Also, I hope you enjoyed your child’s artistic interpretation of their classmates.  They did a great job!!

 

Research Writing

Over the next several weeks the class will be working on researching information on a specific animal.  This information will be used to make a booklet.  We are currently learning about the parts of a book:  cover page, table of contents, headings, and author’s page.  Soon this will help your child apply their research skills to their own animal booklet.  More information will come home when it is time for your child to begin work on their own animal book.   

Snacks

Please remember to send in a snack for your child.  A lot of students are forgetting their snacks on a daily basis.  It might be helpful to keep an extra snack in their backpacks in case they forget to bring a snack to school.
