Silly Slippers

Tomorrow, October 31, students may wear silly slippers to school for a donation of $1.00.  The money raised will go to United Way.  Students should also bring their tennis shoes since we will have P.E.

Conference Week

I would like to thank all of my parents for a great Conference Week.  It is wonderful to have such supportive parents.  It truly is a team effort and I am lucky to have great students and parents!  Thank you!!!

Snacks

Please remember to send in a snack for your child.  A lot of students are forgetting their snacks on a daily basis.  It might be helpful to keep an extra snack in their backpacks in case they forget to bring a snack to school. 

Thanksgiving Feast

Our Thanksgiving Feast is Tuesday, November 15 from 11:34 am to 12:04 pm.  You will find more information on the handout that I will send home tomorrow. Also, you can go to Frey’s website and download the information.  I hope you can join us for a delicious Thanksgiving meal.

November 8:  Teacher In-Service Day - No School For Students

November 15:  Thanksgiving Feast For Grades K-2

November 16:  Thanksgiving Feast For Grades 3-5

Rachel's Challenge

Parents, don't miss out on the Rachel's Challenge meeting tomorrow night at 6:00 pm. This meeting will inform you about the Rachel's Challenge initiative that Frey is going to be implementing and the reason behind it. This meeting is for PARENTS ONLY due to the content shown and discussed. If you need to bring your children, we will have a movie room for them to go to. The students will have their Assembly for Rachel's Challenge during the day on Thursday that is age appropriate.

We promise you'll walk away with a new perspective on kindness and in helping us START A CHAIN REACTION!!!!

Conference Week

Just a reminder that next week is Conference Week.  Students will be dismissed at 12:20 pm. Our lunch time will be from 10:40 pm  to 11:10 pm. I am looking forward to seeing everyone.  

 

Welcome: I would like to welcome Sha’liya Collins to our class.  She is a wonderful addition to our classroom.  This makes a total of 20 students in my class.

Reflections Contest:  I would like to congratulate Maya Moore for her entry in the Reflections Contest.  I am very proud of her!

Fall Festival:   Wow, what a great Fall Festival!  It was wonderful to see everyone having such a good time.  A big thank you to our Room Parent Mrs. Stone for our lovely class basket.  Also, thank you to the parents that made a contribution to our basket.  The Fall Festival is a fun way to have family time and to support our wonderful PTSA.

Picture Retakes: Picture retake day is October 28. If your child was absent for pictures, please let me know.  Also, if you were not pleased with your child’s pictures, just return the original package on this day for a retake.  These pictures will be in Frey’s yearbook.

Conference Week: Conference Week is October 24-28.  On Monday, I sent a form home with the day and time for your child’s conference.  Please return the form letting me know if you are able to make the scheduled day and time.  Dismissal time during Conference Week is 12:20 pm. I look forward to seeing everyone soon.

Bus Driver Appreciation Week:  Bus Driver Appreciation Week is October 17-21.  Show your appreciation to your child’s bus driver for taking such good care of your child every day by saying thank you, making a card, or drawing a picture.

 

CogAT- All first grade students will be taking the CogAT test starting tomorrow Wednesday October 5, and continuing Thursday October 6, and Friday October 7. The test will begin promptly at 8:00 am. Please make sure that your child arrives to school on time. If your child is late, she or he will have to wait in the Media Center until the test is over. Also, any student that is late or absent will have to make up that portion of the test another day. Make sure that your child is well rested and eats a healthy breakfast every morning. As we all know breakfast is a very important meal. Happy testing!

Fall Festival- Frey’s Fall Festival is 3 days away. It will be held Friday, October 7 from 5:30 pm to 8:30 pm. There will lots of games, food, vendors, and Frey friends. Thanks to everyone that has sent in candy or a cake for the cake walk. Mrs. Stone, our Room Parent is working diligently on getting a class basket together for the auction. Please plan to come and enjoy a night full of fun with your family.

Benjamin Franklin- Just a reminder that the Benjamin Franklin posters are due on Monday, October 10. During the week your child will present the poster to the class. It might be helpful to have your child practice sharing the information on the poster at home so he or she will be comfortable when it is time to present. I attached a rubric to the letter that I sent home, please attach it to your child’s poster. I look forward to seeing wonderful presentations!

Birthday- Thank you to everyone for my birthday cupcake, candy, cards, and gifts. I was touched
by your kindness. It made my birthday extra special!
